Project Selection- Film

The film project interested me the most as I have helped other people do film projects like this.  The aspects of film that interest me are script-writing, directing the film, camera shots, and editing all of the pieces together to make the final project.  Watching films and watching the background behind the films in class has given me a better understanding of what it takes to direct a film, they take time and patience.  A film cannot just be created in a day, as it takes many months of hard work and dedication.  I feel like I am a leader and when I put my mind to a task, I accomplish it.  Another thing that I am good at is imagining ideas.  The only problem with imagining new ideas is that sometimes those ideas cannot be done or accomplished because of obstacles in the way.  This project could challenge me in a variety of ways.  If I want to film outside then I have to decide what time of the day will the lighting be good and also what angels when I'm shooting will be good for outside.  Another challenge could be with the camera.  If the camera runs out of battery during filming or if something happens to it, then all of our data could be gone.

Planning- Filming

During the past couple weeks, it has been difficult trying to get a good time for everyone to film.  Once we did get everyone together, it was very easy to film because we already had all the props and locations set up.  On Friday, December 15 we tried to get everyone together but were unable to do so.  After many times of trying to get together, December 18th we finally all got together after school.  For editing, we decided to use Morgan's Macbook computer instead of a laptop.  This would give us a bigger screen along with a more dependent computer.  I took us a couple hours to edit and we are continuously still editing our film.  The editing app that we are using on Morgan's Macbook is called "IMovie".

3rd Quarter Submission Feedback

Just like last quarter, we went over everyone's magazine or film and talked about what we liked and the critiques.  My group and I changed a variety of things from the last quarter submission.  We changed the start of the film along with cutting out many scenes.  The feedback that we received was mostly positive but we need to add some of the scenes we cut back into the film.  We needs to also cut some of the beginning scene where the drome is flying through the neighborhood.  That scene was too long and takes up most of the film.  ON the positive note, many people thought our film was funny especially when Donte (the dad) and Hannah (the mom) are in the car talking and there is an awkward pause before exiting the car.  Our film is close to being done but there still is many things that we can improve before the final submission.
